Do your drivers carry ladders?

<< Previous | Next >>

The HSE have just released figures that show, 46 fatalities and 3,350 serious injuries from working at height last year. So if your driver is required to use a ladder in the course of their work duties, have you actually gone through a training programme with them?

  • The carrying and loading of a ladder onto a vehicle needs training.
  • Do your drivers know what to do in the event of an incident regarding the ladders?
  • Have you done the Risk Assessments from a driver’s viewpoint?

Dr James Wallace of NHASCO ( www.nhasco.co.uk ) said “ working at height is a huge Risk and the proper steps (Pardon the pun) need to be in place to protect everyone. However combine this with motor vehicles and mobile workers the risk is even greater. We work closely with Fleet Management Solutions to make sure both our clients have had the proper training and policies in place”
